Caribbean Nautical Chart by shawnbrown Caribbean Nautical Chart by shawnbrown
An antique nautical chart of the Caribbean Islands. 16th-century-style historical replica. Features old island names as used on the maps of English captains (e.g., Porto Rico instead of Puerto Rico, St. Christopher instead of St. Kitts, etc.). Nautical decor. Print version is very high quality even at 20x30 inches. Suitable for framing.

I have one of these charts of Bermuda and another of St. Thomas and St. John. It's interesting: the actual maps had "sea views" so that approaching captains could try to figure out which island was which by its outline. It just would do to go sailing into a Spanish or French port with the Union Jack flying proudly. I'm home with a cold today and it's making me wish that it were January, when I'm going down to the USVI with my son.
